Here is an email from another amazing Vietnam Veteran we honored recently:
Hello Nightshift,
To all of you. I'm Lenny Caruso and I have been to several of your concerts with my wife. I'm a Vietnam Vet and and you all make my day when you play the Animals "We Gotta Get Out of this Place". This past Sunday we enjoyed you at Sonny's Place. It was such a great honor when you asked me up to sing with you and how you make us feel so proud.
Just wanted to thank you all for what you do for us Veterans
Thanks a lot
Lenny & Cathy
No Lenny.......It is US who thank YOU and our Veterans for all you did for our great country!

I was at Donahue's last Saturday night and I wanted to compliment you on your amazing set list! Every song was a song that most bands don't play but I for one loved every one of them (and obviously so did everyone else since the place went crazy and everyone stayed all night!)
Thank you for not playing all the songs that EVERY band always plays and providing us with a breath of fresh air. I can't wait to come and see you again so I can relive the good years with all the great songs that I've always loved but haven't gotten to hear until last Saturday night.

Here's what the owner of the "Free Spirit Café" in Vernon, CT had to say about Nightshift:
"HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HUNG IN THERE WITH US ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WHILE OUR AIR CONDITIONING WAS DOWN .....PHEW .....WHAT A SAUNA IT WAS ..... IT IS VERY OBVIOUS TO ALL OF US THAT THE SOLE REASON PEOPLE DIDN'T "BEAT FEET" FOR A COOLER VENUE WAS THE FREE SPIRIT DEBUT OF THE "HOTTEST" (LITERALLY & FIGURATIVELY) NEW BAND IN THE AREA.... "NIGHTSHIFT" .....AMIDST ALL THAT HEAT AND HUMIDITY, KENNY HICKS AND THE BOYS ACTUALLY HAD PEOPLE UP DANCING (AND SWEATING THEIR BUTTS OFF) FOR 3 STRAIGHT HOURS ..... GREAT REVIEWS ON THE BAND FROM EVERY PATRON IN THE PLACE ALL NIGHT LONG!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH GUYS!!! BOTTOM LINE ......IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN "NIGHTSHIFT" ....DO SO!!!!"

About Nightshift
We are a 5-piece 60’s, 70’s and 80’s cover band that only performs the most popular and the most fun songs from those three decades. All of us have been members of many well-known bands in Connecticut over the years and in 2015 we combined our talents to form this very exciting group. We know your audiences will love every song that we play and they will sing along, dance and have a REALLY fun time, from the kiddies to the grandparents! They always have! And we have a HUGE following in just this short time, too!

"As we were enjoying the community who came out, eating our peach shortcake, and enjoying the beautiful weather with our neighbors, on the stage was the well known and loved band, Nightshift! As they played all sorts of wonderful music from the past, we danced and sang along as they performed an amazing show! Thank you to Nightshift for being the beat to our hearts that evening! [🎶] "
You're very welcome and we thank you for trusting the music to Nightshift once again!

"Anyone who was concerned (as many of us were) about how Nightshift would fare after three members left the band need only to have been in Newington tonight to know that those concerns are gone forever.
Their timing was spot on, and the balance between instruments was perfect!
Don’t miss these guys; they get better each time they play together."

We are also very well-known for our strong support for all our Veterans, our Active Military Personnel, our Police, our Firefighters and all First Responders. We always make it a point to recognize and thank them during every performance for continually keeping us all safe. That has always been EXTREMELY well received by every audience and we are proud to do it for them!
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
We attended the New Year's Eve Event at the Elks Lodge in Westbrook and we had such a fun night because of your band! Your set list is like no other band's and it kept us on the dance floor all night!
Thank you for playing the songs that made us feel young again. We hadn't heard some of those songs in a long time and it made us feel like we were back in high school again!
GREAT JOB!

Nightshift was definitely the best concert so far. We want to start to follow where they perform.
Pure awesomeness!
Here's what Sara and Don said after seeing us at the Scotch Plains Tavern in Essex on December 2nd, 2022:
We had such a great night at the Scotch Plains Tavern last Saturday night! We loved every song you played and we danced all night long among the huge crowd. We haven't had that much fun in ages! Every single song that you played was a song that we couldn't believe a live band was playing. Most bands that we see all play the same current songs that all the other bands play so it was very refreshing to hear the songs that we grew up listening to being done live.
Thank you for restoring our confidence in live music once again!
We WILL see you again and again!!
Sincerely,
Sara and Don

Here's what "Marty" said in an email we received from him:
Here is a message from "Lynn" who was at a recent show at Sonny's Place:
"My dad was a Vietnam Veteran so I was deeply moved at Sonny's Place by your heartfelt support of our Veterans!
I immediately thought of my dad and I actually teared up when you invited a Vietnam Veteran up on stage with you so he could finally get the respect and appreciation that he never received when he returned home back then. Well done guys!
I am now a forever fan of Nightshift because of that and I sincerely thank you for making our Veterans feel special!"
Thank you so much for that nice message Lynn! We promise that we will ALWAYS honor our Veterans!

Here's what "Al and Sherry" emailed to us right after our show in Farmington:
I really liked when you introduced the band, you also included where each member was from. I personally remember a person better when I can connect a name and a location. It is very unusual for most bands to do that. I think learning that you all are from CT helps you to connect with a CT audience AND knowing that one band member is from Bridgeport and another from Coventry makes people appreciate what you have to do to perform as a band!
Since we sat in the "front row” last night we could really observe how you connected with the two 3-year-old girls dancing to the music, as well as others in the audience. Your ability to connect with the audience is a bonus that normally does not happen with any band. And then at the end of the concert, you even went up to the 2 girls and thanked them for the dance!!!
I never saw that before.

Here's what Jim C said after Nightshift's Summer Concert in Newington on August 27, 2022:
Oh my god …. My wife was recommended this when she was looking for things to do in CT and asked if I was interested. I said yes and we got to the show just after you started.
The song list was incredible! I knew EVERY SONG! It was such a great night!
We have been texting everyone we know to tell them how great you guys are.
Can’t wait to catch another show. Thank you so much for making my weekend !

"A group of us from our church were at your New Britain Concert. It was FABULOUS!!!!
We go to concerts all over the area during the summer and you were BY FAR the best band we saw!!
Loved the song choices (we knew them all). Especially Nights in White Satin (though to do well with a 5 piece AND YOU DID IT EXCELLENT) and Chicago which is one of my favorite groups. Heck you did it better than groups with 4 brass instruments live we saw!!!!
Loved you didn’t take a break for a 2 hour show (everyone else did)
The band was tight, EVERYONE was right on!!!
Really loved the keyboard playing such a diversity of instruments.
Really loved the lead singer he was outstanding as was the lead guitarist.
You thanked the audio people, which was great, because that was also the best audio mix we heard at New Britain. Every other band the lead singer was lost in the wash and the entire presentation was muffled. You were clear as a bell and each instrument could be clearly heard in the mix, which is how it should be.
If you use a different line up for each concert we’d love to hear you again.
Thanks again for your OUTSTANDING performance and the resulting wonderful and fun outing.
Blessings,
Walt Mayhew
NOTE: The audio PA system and the mix was provided by our dear friends Pete DeFazio and Rob Sebastian (of the band "Avenue Groove") and we thank them both SO much for their perfect job!
